A Carbon Neutral
Future for Hospitality

Strengthening our ongoing commitment to social impact and sustainability, since December 2019 Be Tulum is offsetting tons of CO2 monthly in a reforestation program that benefits rural communities in Chiapas, Mexico and mitigates global climate change. Through our Sustainability Department’s targeted and measurable efforts, all of our events and operations are carbon neutral to ensure our role in addressing climate change in a significant way.

How it works

Carbon Offset

Science proves that a key cause of global warming are the emissions of greenhouse gases. Human emissions produced by industry, transportation, land use, and electric power all contribute to the consequential results of global warming, including storms, hurricanes and flooding.

One of the key tactics to mitigate climate change is capturing carbon — as trees absorb CO2, it transforms into wood and oxygen and recycles into the atmosphere. Trees equally absorb emissions caused by daily human interactions to produce more oxygen necessary for human survival. Today we face the gravity of deforestation, with fewer trees producing the emissions and oxygen we require.

A carbon footprint can be offset via the purchase of carbon offsets, which are directly used to fund reforestation projects. Our collaboration allows us to contribute to reducing the number of greenhouse gases emitted annually and protect the forests and jungles of our planet.
